CAMBODGE is a tropical fruit, with a berry having a size of an apple. Green in colour but turns yellow and then brown & finally black once it has been properly sun-dried. Botanical Name is Garcinia cambogia. In French: Gamboge & In German: Gummiguttbaum. In my native state of Kerala (India), this beautiful evergreen tree will be usually found near small stream or river side. The leaves are always green and shiny. The tree symbolises good health even by its look. Some study has proved that, this fruit is widely used in anti-obesity drugs. When it rains in Kerala, the ripe fruits would drop into the flood waters and we as kids used to gather them and handover to our grandmother. She will clean it, dry it under the sun or get it smoke dried. Then store it in a glass or clay pot for future use with some rock salt sprinkled over it. If you have ever tasted the typical Kerala Fish Curry and wondered, what makes it so mouth watering and tasty, then the real ingredient that makes the difference is this spice. The rind contains hydoxy citric acid, which gives that typical sour taste to the gravy at the same time does not make the gravy sweet, unlike regular tamarind. The taste is slightly tart. It also turns the gravy little bit thick but not slimy. Recently we at VIRTUS TRADE, gave this spice its due respect and exported them with beautiful stand along packaging. We want the world to know, the real taste that we are missing day by day, bringing those cooking secrets our Grandmothers served us from ages. Same conventional product in an international standard packing. Get in touch with us for more such products in packing and standards, that suits your country's standards and expectation. Don't even worry about the MOQ, all you need is a wish to trade them.
