The Primary current sensor uses the same sensor technology as the original Rogowski coil. The True RMS inductive sensor does not use magnetic materials. The opening of the sensor is electronically closed and external currents are electronically rejected.
The accuracy, external current reject, and range of currents measured by the patented amp sensor substantially exceed the performance of the best clamp-on sensors. The key feature of the unit is the ability to leave it deployed on the line to record readings every 15 minutes for 90+ days. It easily attaches to the line with a standard insulating bar. Once on the line, it immediately begins to collect and record the primary current on the line.
The Primary current sensor is equipped with a 433M wireless port for communicating the recorded data into the userâ??s PC. The data is downloaded through GF2018S PC-Link Software, which allows the user to download, view and query the data stored on the Primary current recorder.
The housing of the Primary current sensor is made of ABS+PC and is built to operate safely, even in severe utility environments. It is resistant to shock, waterproof and resistant to flame. It also operates within a wide temperature range. The Primary current recorder has a screw insulation bar of installation, which allows it to hang on the line securely in all weather conditions.
PC-Link Software is a user-friendly software interface that allows the user to download, view, graph and export data from the Primary current recorder into Microsoft Excel. The data directly transfers from the Primary current recorder into Excel through an 433M Port.

In electrical and electronic engineering, a clamp on ct is an electrical device with jaws which open to allow clamping around an electrical conductor. This allows measurement of the current in a conductor without the need to make physical contact with it, or to disconnect it for insertion through the probe. Clamp on cts are typically used to read the magnitude of alternating current (AC) and, with additional instrumentation, the phase, waveform and harmonics can also be measured. Some clamp on cts can measure currents of 100 A and more.
Applications
The round jaw design on the P20 AC clamp on ct along with the high content Permalloy core makes them well suited for power quality analyzer applications where high accuracy and low phase shift along with wide frequency are important. Measurement range is 1mA to 120A. It can measure the min current only 1mA, linear good for instruments.
The P20 clamp on ct is a general purpose 100A AC current clamp designed for use with DMMs, loggers and other instruments that have a current input. It ha s a 1000:1 ratio and output of 1mA per amp or 1mV per amp measured in the jaw. The P20 has an integral 2.5m lead terminated.
