Palm kernel cake (expeller)is a by-product of the palm oil extraction process. The process of extracting palm oil from the palm fruit involves crushing the fruit and separating the palm kernel from the palm mesocarp. The palm kernel is then further processed to extract the oil, leaving behind a solid cake known as the palm kernel cake (expeller) PKC has a high fiber content and a relatively low oil content compared to palm kernel meal, another by-product of the palm oil extraction process. PKC is often used as a substitute for other protein sources in animal feed, such as soybean meal or fish meal. It is also used as a feed ingredient in the production of biofuels.
