HMS is 'Heavy Melting Scrap'. It is the generic term for most types of heavy steel scrap, normally cut to a size not exceeding 1.5m x 0.5m. It may and will consist of cut lengths of pipe, re-bar, angles, steel poles, H or I beams, ships plate. HMS 1 is the term for heavier scrap which has a density of at least 0.7 tons per cubic meter, whereas HMS 2 would be lighter steel scrap such as thin wall tubing (eg bicycle frames), sheet scrap less than 3.2mm thick and so on. HMS 2 may contain galvanized and blackened steel whereas HMS 1 does not. HMS1 and HMS2 are normally sold together with a ratio of 80/20 (or similar) depending on the price, heavy and light. HMS is the worldwide description used.
Hard copper alloy with high thermal conductivity and high mechanical properties combined with good hardness and high temperature strength. Cupro CNB Areas of Applications : Spot welding electrodes and seam welding discs for stainless steel, Monel and nickel alloys, Flash welding dies, wire mesh electrodes, Plastic blow and injection moulds and inserts in steel tools for higher cooling rates, Nozzles and needles for hot runner systems, Plunger tips in aluminium die casting machines, Moulds for non-ferrous metal castings (as copper, brass, bronze), Welding tools in plastic packaging Code: DIN 17666 W. Abrasion resistance is very high. Compared to standard drawing bronze, has 2 times longer life. It also has high metal removal capability. Easier to process. Cupral 12 Areas of Application: Form rollers in the manufacture of pipes, Induction welding in pipe manufacturing reels, Deep drawing dies, Used as moulding material in the manufacture of all stainless steel kitchen utensils like sinks, pots, kettles etc. Heat Treatment :If intensive processing, stress relief is recommended for 4 hours at 300 °C.
This is a copper alloy with high electrical conductivity. When alloyed with chromium and zirconium, wear resistance increases. Wires can be shaped by erosion. Cupro Max CuCrZr Areas of Application: Electrode tips and disks of low carbon steel and galvanized steel in resistance welding Continuous casting steel and aluminum moulds Plunge spark erosion machine electrodes Refrigerator parts and moulds for casting of non-ferrous metals The pistons of aluminum injection molding machine Plastic packaging welding and seam welding ends Nozzles of injection molding machines As cathode plate carrier and in electroplating Plastic extrusion and forming tool used in refrigeration In electrical equipment, contacts, pins, contact bars Code : DIN 17666 W. Nr. 2.1293 44759, A2/2, EN: CW 106C, AFNOR: UC1Zr, USA: CDA: C18150, C18200, C18400, RWMA: Class 2, CuCr1Zr
Hard copper alloy with high thermal conductivity and high mechanical properties combined with good hardness and high temperature strength. Good resistance to tempering. Nitriding and case-hardening are not suitable. Cupro CB (CuCo2Be) Areas of Application : Spot welding electrodes and seam welding discs for stainless steel, Monel and nickel alloys, Flash welding dies, wire mesh electrodes, Plastic blow and injection moulds and inserts in steel tools for higher cooling rates, Nozzles and needles for hot runner systems, Plunger tips in aluminium die casting machines, Moulds for non-ferrous metal castings (as copper, brass, bronze), Welding tools in plastic packaging, Code: 2.1285 (CuCoBe) DIN 17666, USA CDA C17500, RWMA:Class3
Hardness is the highest copper alloy. 40 - 41 RC is reached. Optionally, case hardened or solution obtained condition (20 - 22 RC) will be delivered. Cupro B2 Areas of Application: Flash welding dies, rim and chain welding, In the plastic moulds as chill plates and inserts in the moulds, cooling pins and neck rings or bottom plates for blow moulds of plastic bottles, Parts for electrical components, Safety tools due to non-sparking, non-magnetic and corrosion resistant features.
