This variety is said to be resistant to YMV and tolerant to root rot. 5 VAMBAN 1 The Vamban 1 variety of Black Gram was released in the year 1987. It takes around 60-65 days for this variety to mature from transplantation. The grain yield of this variety is around 780 kg/ha when rainfed and 900 kg/ha when irrigated. The Vamban 1 is a high yielding variety and is also tolerant of YMV. 6 APK 1 The APK 1 variety of Black Gram was released in 1993. This variety takes around 75 days to mature after transplantation.
