Gulupa is a perennial, semi-woody, vine-like plant with great vegetative vigor. Its structure is determined by the main stem from which numerous lateral branches are derived. Harvest practices
The gulupa fruits are taken directly from the plant. Fruits that have fallen should not be collected to avoid generating contamination with microorganisms edaphic; you must try to have adequate conditions hygiene when handling the product, using gloves to avoid damaging its shell and minimize handling contamination.
The product is collected in plastic baskets of 60 x 40 x 25 cm and with a capacity of 15 kg, avoiding pressure between the fruits. In the collection centers the product is received, its classification in smooth, clean and disinfected countertops. Storage should be done in disinfected baskets to avoid contamination that later affects the quality of the fruit.
