What is a grain cleaning machine? Grain cleaning machines, also known as winnowers, have been used for a long time. They are applied to separate the grains from the chaff, as well as to calibrate the seeds, that is, to separate them by weight and size. The first winnowers worked owing to vibration? the uncleaned grain was shaken and cleaned of the chaff, and the built-in fan blew them away. This design appeared at the beginning of the fourteenth century and remained practically unchanged up to the present day, however, so-called aerodynamic separators are now available on the market, which operate on a completely different principle.
