When the buds are fully developed and grow pink flush on them, these are hand plucked and dried over several days in the sun. Essential oil is processed from the unopened flower buds, leaves and stalks. Origin and Distribution: It is a native plant found in North Molucca Islands of Indonesia. Clove plants also grow Zanzibar, Madagascar, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India. Geographical Conditions: For the cultivation of the plants, well drained rich soil with sufficient soil moisture is preferred. Further, the plant requires high atmospheric temperature (25 to 35 degree).
