Description
The Trusted Processor Interface Adaptor T812X provides easy access to the communications ports of the Trusted TMR Processor in the Trusted Controller Chassis for Peer to Peer communications, DCS and other links, networked PCs etc. The Adaptor also supports fault/fail and diagnostics connections to the Processor, and connection facilities for IRIG B time Synchronization facilities, as well as enabling the user of Modbus Master facilities on the T8151 Communication Interface Card.
The Adaptor comprises a printed circuit board (PCB) on which the communications ports are mounted. The PCB also supports two 48- way DIN41612 E-type connectors which enables the Adaptor to be plugged into the Trusted TMR Processor Module input/output (I/O) connectors (Active and Standby) at the rear of the Trusted Controller Chassis. The communications ports available from the Adaptor are RS485 (Port 1) and RS422/485 (Ports 2 and 3). The Ports are accessed via Phoenix contact 2.5mm pitch connectors.
Fault/fail, diagnostic and PSU shutdown monitor, and IRIG B time Synchronization signals are also available via Phoenix connectors.
A complete set of connectors mentioned above are allocated to both the Active and Standby processors.
Termination resistors for RS422/485 communications are selectable via links. These are mounted on the PCB and are the only configurable items which require setting up before using the Adaptor.
When the Adaptor is plugged into the I/O connector on the rear of the Trusted Controller Chassis, it is mechanically latched in position. Release buttons are provided to enable the user to unplug the Adaptor as required.

The Trusted Expander Interface Adaptor Unit T8312 comprises four 12-pin ODU connectors (dependent on type of unit), a printed circuit board (pcb), a 96-way C type connector which plugs into a double 96-way connector assembly designed to be connected to the Trusted Expander Interface modules resident in the Controller Chassis. The Unit is contained within a metal enclosure and is designed to be clipped onto the Controller Chassis rear connectors. A release button is provided to enable the Unit to be disconnected.

Description
The Trusted Versatile Field Termination Assembly (VFTA) is designed to act as the main interface between field devices associated with the detection and suppression of fire and gas hazards, and the Trusted TMR Zone Interface Module T8448.
Each channel of the VFTA is configurable to enable a variety of field devices to be connected. These include devices generating both analogue and digital input signals, and output devices requiring a digital signal at up to 40V dc.
The 40 channels are arranged in five power groups each comprising eight identical channels. Each power group is supplied from dual 24V dc feeds which are commoned via diodes on the VFTA. The supply is then fed to each channel within the group.
The supply voltage to the field is fed via a 315mA fuse. The incoming signal (0-20mA) from the field device is fed through a 50mA fuse which effectively limits the input signal. The voltage developed across an input 250R resistor (high precision 0.1%) is used by the input module to detect the field device status.
The cable linking the 40 channels on the input module to the VFTA is terminated at five 10-way connectors. The dual 24V dc power supplies are connected to the VFTA via five 4-way connectors. Forty 3-way connectors are used for the field loops.
The VFTA is designed to be mounted on either of the TS32 or TS35 DIN rails in the horizontal or vertical positions as required.

Description
Trusted TMR processor contains and executes the operating and application software programs in a triple redundant, fault tolerant controller system.
The fault tolerant design contains six fault containment regions. The three synchronized processor fault containment regions contain respectively a 600 series microprocessor, its memory, voter and associated circuits.
The non-volatile memory is used to store the configuration and application programs for the system.
Each processor has an independent power supply fed from the dual redundant 24Vdc power supply of the Trusted controller chassis backplane. The processor power supplies provide short circuit protection and regulated power to the module electronics.
The processor operates concurrently to achieve triple modular redundancy and fault tolerance. By providing 2-out-of-3 hardware voting on every inter-processor exchange and memory data retrieval, uncompromised fault detection and error-free operation are assured.
Trusted TMR processor communicates with other modules via a backplane mounted, triplicated inter-module bus. Additionally, the interface modules are used to support communication with I/O sub-systems and other equipment.
Module faults are automatically detected, time-stamped, and stored for historical review. Transient faults, once they are recorded, are cleared automatically without nuisance alarming. Permanent faults in a processor are annunciated on the front panel of the module, without disturbing ongoing processing in the two remaining processors.
When a failed Trusted TMR processor is replaced, it is automatically initialized without external loader or other equipment.
Application programs are developed using the full suite of IEC 1131-3 languages. The user can load, run, stop, single-step or delete the application program. A front panel maintenance enable key-switch allows the download of application programs.

Description
The Trusted Communications Interface Adaptor T8153 is designed to be connected directly to the rear of a Trusted Communications Interface Module in a Trusted Controller Chassis T8100. The Assembly provides a communications connection interface to remote systems. Connection between the Assembly and the Trusted Communications Interface module is via a 78+2-way Inverse DIN41612 M-type connector (SK1).
The Assembly comprises a printed circuit board (PCB) on which the communications ports and socket SK1 (connector to the Trusted Communications Interface) are mounted. The Assembly is contained within a metal enclosure and is designed to be clipped onto the appropriate connector at the rear of the Controller Chassis. A release button is provided to enable the Assembly to be disconnected.
The communications port available at the Assembly are RS232 (one each of full and partial), RS485 (both direct and multi-drop) and Ethernet (10BaseT and 100BaseT).

Description
The Trusted communication interfaces provide the Trusted controller with an intelligent communication interfaces which act as a relay between the Trusted processor and other systems, i.e. the engineering workstation (EWS) and third party systems. This minimizes communications loading of the Trusted processor.
The module has a Motorola 600 series processor and MPC106 PCI bridge/memory controller, its associated memory and glue logic. There is also a site for a PCI mezzanine card for future expansion.
The module communicates with the Trusted processor via the triplicated inter-module bus (IMB). When polled by the processor, the modules bus interface 2-oo-3 votes the data from the IMB, and transmits back its reply via all three channels.
The module implements communications processing under the control of the Trusted processor. Messages received from the processor or an external link are validated undergo the necessary protocol conversion and are then forwarded to their destination.
An electrically isolated RS232 diagnostics serial port is provided on the front panel of the module for interfacing to the EWS.
The module receives a dual 24V dc supply from the controller backplane. An on-board power supply unit provides voltage conversion for the module electronics, supply conditioning and protection.
Configuration of the module is carried out using the Trusted Toolset running on an engineering workstation. Once configured and loaded into the Trusted controller, replacement modules are online educated by the TMR processor.
