How is a fiberglass needled mat made?

The fiberglass needled mat is made from alkali-free glass fiber yarn as raw material, with a single fiber diameter of 7 to 9 micrometers. The fibers are cut into short lengths ranging from 6cm to 9cm, and then subjected to carding and decomposition to create an extremely fine felt-like material. This material is then fed into a needle punching machine, where it is continuously stitched using thousands of needle punches. Its main components are silica, alumina, and calcium oxide.

What are the features of a fiberglass needled mat?

It exhibits exceptional properties such as heat resistance, tensile strength, durability, fire resistance, corrosion resistance, and electrical insulation. It also offers outstanding insulation, sound absorption, and dust removal efficiency surpassing that of fabric filters.

Where is the fiberglass needled mat used?

The fiberglass needled mat is usually used as thermal insulation for such domestic appliances as barbecue grills,electric ovens, microwave oven, coffee cooker, water heater and other appliances need better energy effiency and less cooking time.

Fiberglass stitched mat is made from chopped fiberglass strands or woven roving which is cut into a certain length and randomly dispersed , laid on a roving matrix then stitched together with organic fibers.
Fiberglass stitched mat is used in unsaturated polyester resin strenthen, primarily in pultrusion, rtm, filament winding and hand lay-up processed. Such as pultruded parts, pipes, storage tanks, wind generator blades and other frp products.

The product (smokeless fiberglass needled mat, odorless fiberglass needled mat) is made from fiberglass as the material.

How is a smokelss fiberglass needled mat manufactured? And what is its feature?

It undergoes a heating process in different stages to carbonize trace organic substances within the fiberglass wool. During the carbonization process, there may be a slight odor and smoke generated. After the baking process, the surface of the product can exhibit either a white or yellowish color, depending on the baking temperature.

Compared to fiberglass wool that hasn't undergone baking, the baked fiberglass wool retains its original properties while eliminating the generation of smoke and odor when subjected to reheating between 200-500C.

Why does an oven(home appliance) need ther thermal insulation(smokeless fiberglass needled mat, odorless fiberglass needled mat)?

This odorless fiberglass needled mat is usually used as thermal insulation( liner or pad) for home appliances such as environmentally sensitive grills, ovens, disinfection cabinet, microwaves and other appliances, which are subject to strict environmental regulations. If a domestic appliance (eg. oven) is added with this thermal insulation , it will be more energy efficient to prevent heat escaping from the oven and it will reach temperature faster and reduce cooking time.

Use in close mold applications such as RTM, VARTM, SCRIMP. Can be pultruded when layered with other materials. Stitched construction allows for pattern or die cutting. Stitch Mat will not wash out in RTM process. and can be pre-wet and moved for proper placement in wet lay-up open molding. it gives uniform thickness compared to extra spray-up in open molding. it is low cost alternative for building thickness and stiffness, where the component is not weight critical.
