This is the second most expensive Saffron but the most expensive common Saffron in the market. The reason for that is because there is less than a handful of Saffron farmers worldwide who can actually provide purest form of Super Negin Saffron. When compared to Super Negin, Negin along with red filaments it also contains some yellow and orange portion threads of stigma, in fact you can often find some stigmas still attached to each other with the smallest amount of yellow styles. Because you are getting the most Saffron available with Negin Saffron you will find the aroma and flavor to be more intense and you get more Saffron for your buck. On the other hand, the stigma of Negin Saffron is usually thicker and longer and it has very good taste and aroma when compared to the Pushal.
The price of pushal is cheaper than other types of saffron, ie Super Negin Saffron and Negin Saffron because Pushal Saffron contains stigma along with a part of style (yellow part) The Pushal filaments are lighter and thinner and in order to dry the pushal, it is done in such a way that the red saffron strands have the largest volume. In this case, the saffron strands swell and twist and coil inside. As a result, they look more voluminous and beautiful. Comparing to the above two saffron, pushal is the lower grade. It has more yellow parts compared to the negin saffron. The pure saffron concentration will be less compared to the Super Nagin & Nagin.
