The rambutan is also unofficially known as hairy cherry because of the soft, fleshy hair-like projections around its covering which appears green or yellow, and turns red as the fruit ripens.
Such name is derived from a malaysian word â??rambutâ??, meaning hair, of where the fruit originally grows.
Well-cultivated in vietnam after the fruit was introduced in the country, rambutan now grows abundantly in the vietnamese mekong delta area.
Its fruit measures about 3-4 cm in diameter and breaking open the hairy outer peel exposes a white to translucent flesh that is firm and sweet, surrounding a hard seed beneath.

The product is collected in plastic baskets of 60 x 40 x 25 cm and with a capacity of 15 kg, avoiding pressure between the fruits. In the collection centers the product is received, its classification in smooth, clean and disinfected countertops. Storage should be done in disinfected baskets to avoid contamination that later affects the quality of the fruit.
Granadilla belongs to the passion fruit family. It is circular in shape, weighs between 110 and 125gr and has a diameter between 5 and 7.5cms. The rind is strong, thick and smooth orange in color. The pulp consists of small black, edible seeds covered with a juicy, crystalline, transparent and jelly-like mass. Its flavor is sweet and has a pleasant aroma.
