Sunflower Seed Meal is the by-product of the extraction of oil from sunflower seeds. De-hulled sunflower pellets contain 36% crude protein, while sunflower meal with hulls contain 26-28% crude protein. This product is obtained by grinding the residue that remains from the extraction of oil from sunflower seed. In order to facilitate handling and transportation, the meal is pelletised. The colour of sunflower meal varies from grey to black and depends on the degree of de-hulling and method of oil extraction.
Sunflower Meal is generally quite palatable. It has high nutritional value and is rich in vitamin E. The inclusion of sunflower meals in broiler diets may vary depending on the fiber content of the meal, the lysine, and/or energy supplementation of the diet. Sunflower meal can successfully replace soybean meal in the case of broilers, provided that diets are supplemented with adequate amounts of lysine and energy.

Characteristics of sunflower meal
The cake obtained after processing sunflower seeds contains a large amount of fats, phospholipids, vitamins, proteins. The nutritional value of the proteins contained in the feed is comparable to that of animal proteins. The resulting products retain amino acids, minerals and fiber, which have a beneficial effect on the development and growth of animals and poultry. The content of nutrients in the cake depends on the feedstock, but its approximate composition is as follows:
proteins - not less than 32%;
fats - 8-15%;
minerals - 5-18%;
vitamins of group B (riboflavin, thiamine), A, E;
pantothenic acid;
carotene;
a nicotinic acid.
An important advantage of sunflower cake is its resistance to mycotoxin contamination.

Sunflower meal - concentrated feed; byproduct of oil extraction production. It turns out after the extraction of oil from sunflower seeds with organic solvents in stills and evaporators .. Sunflower meal contains up to 1.5-2% of residual oil.
Sunflower meal - a valuable food, as part of which contains 30-43% crude protein, a rich set of amino acids, in particular high levels of methionine, which has a positive effect on the growth and development of young animals. Compared to the oil cake in the meal has a crude protein slightly larger, but less fat - not more than 1.5%.
