The ENplus values in detail: Lower heating value over 4.8 kWh/kg This is the most important value for you, as the higher the lower heating value, the greater the maximum usable amount of heat generated during combustion. The wood pellets we offer have a lower heating value of over 4.8 kWh/kg â?? the ENplus standard requires 4.6 kWh/kg. This value is important because only the lower heating value measures the actual energy content of your pellets! Many manufacturers and retailers indicate the upper heating value on the packaging, which is always higher than the lower heating value but does not provide any information about the actual energy content of the pellets during combustion.
