Bitumen grade 70/60 is a grade of standard penetrating bitumen and is one of the most widely used bitumen types in the world. This type of bitumen is used as a material for paving roads. This exported bitumen is known as medium-grade bitumen for road construction and asphalt pavement production with superior properties and is used for construction projects. This grade of bitumen is mainly used in making hot asphalt as a mixture of bitumen and stone materials. The degree of bitumen 70/60 is determined by the penetration test and softening in a certain period of time. As you have noticed, the penetration degree is determined by the penetration test. Only performance parameters such as adhesion, rheology, durability and tolerance of a certain temperature can determine bitumen grading.

This grade of Bitumen is mainly used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses. Penetration Grade Bitumen supplied by ASI GLOBAL TRADE is petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from fractional / vacuum distillation of crude oil. The Bitumen supplied by ASI GLOBAL TRADE is produced from vacuum residue (short residue) feedstock. Penetration Grade bitumens are specified by the penetration and softening point test. Designation is by penetration range only. The penetration grade bitumens have a thermoplastic property which causes the material to soften at high temperatures and to harden at lower temperatures. The quality of bitumen 60/70 depends on its physical properties and specifications. Apart from penetration test, there are a number of test that are used for specifying bitumen 60/70 including viscosity, softening point, ductility, loss on heating, and flash point. Some of these items are more important for suppliers of bitumen 60/60 and their customers. These are softening point and flashpoint. Bitumen 60 70 is composed of asphaltene and maltene. The heavy insoluble asphaltene molecules give bitumen 60/70 its body and softening point while the maltenes are oily and make asphalt flexible. Asphalting molecules are soluble in aromatic solvents like toluene but insoluble in heptane. The maltenes are heptane-soluble molecules and less aromatic. Applications Bitumen 60/70 is a high-quality penetration grade bitumen used in road construction and other similar applications.
