ASTM/AISI Standard Alloy Round Bar

General Scope
This grade is similar to 4140 in scope which has a higher carbon level giving 4130 an advantage when it comes to weldability, this weldability is achieved at the cost of through section hardenability.
AISI 4130 steel is a low alloy steel that is used in structural designs that may be found in applications such as aircraft engine mounts or welded tubing. It is well known for its ease of welding and ability to harden in commercial applications. It is commonly referred to as chromium-molybdenum steel.
Steel I-Beams, also known as H-Beam, are one of the most common steel profile used in construction and civil engineering. It provide support for buildings and load-bearing walls.
The I-shaped section optimises strength weight ratio & surface usability to provide a highly efficient product. It is right-angle formed & so has high bending resistance, construction application simplicity. It save cost, is light weight and thus is used widely in various industries.
A T-Beam is a load-bearing structure with a t-shaped cross section. The top of the t-shaped cross section serves as a flange or compression member in resisting compressive stresses. The web of the beam below the compression flange serves to resist shear stress and to provide greater separation for the coupled forces of bending.
Other uses for one way to make a T-beam to be more efficient structurally is to use an inverted T-beam with a floor slab or bridge deck joining the tops of the beams. Done properly, the slab acts as the compression flange.
