General Description Zebra Multi-Leg Slings are manufactured using either Round slings or Duplex Webbing Slings, depending upon the type and the Safe Working Load. Hooks, master links and auxiliary links are manufactured from quenched and tempered alloy steel. Duplex Slings are stitched directly onto the metal components, Round slings being attached via auxiliary links. All Round slings are fitted with protective slaving and anti-abrasion or anti-cutting protection can also be specified as required. Please note that further information on the general performance, specification, safety in use and maintenance of these products is covered in more detail in the sections on Round slings or Webbing Slings Safe Working Load Angles The Safe Working Load values quoted in the tables have been rated using the uniform load method for a maximum angle for each leg of 45 degrees from the vertical, as shown in the diagrams. Slings may be rated at greater angles if required, please consult Zebra for further details. The textile elements of these Slings have a minimum safety factor of 7:1 and the metal elements a safety factor of 4:1. All slings are serialized and issued with a test certificate.
Do not attempt lifting operations unless you understand the use of the equipment, the slinging procedures and the mode factors to be applied. Do not use defective slings or accessories. Do not force, hammer or wedge chain slings or fittings into position; they must fit freely. Check the correct engagement of fittings and appliances. Position hooks of multi-leg slings facing outward from the load. Do not lift on the point of the hook and ensure that the chain is not twisted or knotted. Back hook free legs to the master link to avoid lashing legs which might accidentally become engaged or otherwise become a hazard. Take the load steadily and avoid shock loads. Do not leave suspended loads unattended. In an emergency cordon off the area.
