3 LITTLE MARVEL
Little marvel is a dwarf plant with wrinkled seeded introduced from England. The pods are of foliage dark green color. The first blossom appears at 9-10th node in 40 days after sowing. The pods are 8 cm long, borne singly, thick and shiny, containing 5-6 very sweet seeds.
4 JAWAHAR MATAR
The Jawahar Matar variety was developed at Jabalpur through the hybridization of T19 x Early Badger followed by selections. The height of the plant is 70-75 cm with a bushy growth habit. The pods are light green in color and roundish-oval in shape with 4-5 wrinkled seeds. The first picking can be started at 50-55 days after sowing.
5 HARBHAJAN (EC 33866)
The Harbhajan variety of peas were developed at Jabalpur by selection from the exotic genetic stock. It is an early variety and first picking can be taken in 45 days of sowing. The pods of these peas are small with yellow, round and small seeds. The average pod yield of this variety is 3 t/ha.
6 BONNEVILLE
Bonneville variety was introduced in the USA. It is one of the most popular varieties of peas. The plant is medium-tall in height and the flowers are mostly borne in doubles. The pods are light green, straight, big with 6-7 well-filled, sweet, bold and wrinkled seeds. It takes around 65-70 days for the first flowering and is susceptible to powdery mildew disease.
7 LINCON
The plants of the lincon variety are medium tall in size. It is generally double podded and the pods are dark green, curved, and big with 8-9 wrinkled seeds. First picking of this variety can start around 85-90 days after sowing. The average pod yield for this variety is around 10t/ha.
8 PUNJAB 88 (P-88)
The Punjab 88 variety of peas was developed at Ludhiana through selections from the hybrid progeny of the cross Pusa02 Ã?? Morriss-55. The plants of this variety are dwarf, vigorous, erect with dark green foliage. The first picking for this variation may be done after 100 days of sowing. The pods are dark green, long, and slightly curved at the center with 7-8 green, wrinkled, and less sweet seeds.
9 AZAD P-2
The Azad P-2 is a powdery mildew resistant variety developed at Kalyanpur through advanced generation selection from the cross Bonneville Ã?? 6587. The plants of this variety are tall, erect with light green foliage and white flowers. The pods of Azad P-2 are medium in size, light green, straight, smooth, firm borne in a cluster of two with 6-7 wrinkled and brownish seeds.
10 OOTY-1
