Obtained from Piper Nigrum vines, this spice is easily recognizable for its sharp aroma and mildly spicy flavour that often let it substitute for chillies. In addition to flavouring, pepper is ripe with medicinal properties and is often used in massages or other natural treatment methods. Available from 450GL to 550GL packed in 25Kg or 50Kg in PP bags. Pepper is largely produced as black pepper which is the dried whole fruit. White pepper is produced by removing the outer pericarp and pepper is also available in crushed and ground forms. A small amount of green and ripened pepper is pickled in brine and dehydrated green pepper and preserved red pepper is also traded. Pepper oil and oleoresins are also extracted marketed as value-added products.
