CAS No - 118-60-5
2-Ethylhexyl Salicylate, or octyl salicylate, is an organic compound used as an ingredient in sunscreens and cosmetics to absorb UVB (ultraviolet) rays from the sun. It is an ester formed by the condensation of salicylic acid with 2-ethylhexanol. It is a colorless oily liquid with a slight floral odor. The salicylate portion of the molecule absorbs ultraviolet light, protecting skin from the harmful effects of exposure to sunlight. The ethylhexanol portion is a fatty alcohol, adding emollient and oil-like (water resistant) properties. Other Name: 2-Ethylhexyl salicylate INCI Name: ETHYLHEXYL SALICYLATE Molecular Formula: C15H22O3 Molecular Weight: 250.33 Appearance: Colorless liquid Purity: 98% CAS NO.: 118-60-5 EINECS No.: 204-263-4 Application: cosmetics and skin care products Supplier: ZHENYIBIO 2-Ethylhexyl Salicylate is an effective solvent and a UV absorber.2-Ethylhexyl salicylate has a conjugated ? bond, which can absorb ultraviolet rays and convert the energy of ultraviolet rays into heat to release it to achieve the purpose of sun protection. 2-Ethylhexyl salicylate can absorb ultraviolet rays in the 280-300nm band and is used as a UVB absorber In sunscreen makeup, although 2-Ethylhexyl salicylate has a small UV absorption capacity, 2-Ethylhexyl salicylate is safer, less toxic, and cheap compared to most other sunscreens. Therefore, it is a type of UV absorber that people use more often.

The primary use of Ammonium Sulphate is as a fertilizer for alkaline soils. In the soil the ammonium ion is released and forms a small amount of acid, lowering the pH balance of the soil, while contributing essential nitrogen for plant growth. The main disadvantage to the use of Ammonium Sulphate is its low nitrogen content relative to Ammonium Nitrate, which elevates transportation costs. It is also used as an agricultural spray adjuvant for water soluble insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides. There it functions to bind iron and calcium cations that are present in both well water and plant cells. It is particularly effective as an adjuvant for 2,4-D (amine), glyphosate and glufosinate herbicides.
