Yellow dextrin is manufactured by partially hydrolyzing starch, using the dry roasting method in the presence of a catalyst. Appearance Light to Dark yellow colour, Loss on Drying 5%, Cold water soluble 90%, Reducing sugar 7%, Ash content .28%.
It is a very fine, white/off white powder which creaks when pressed between the fingers. It is tasteless and odour less. Loss on drying 12%, ph 6%, Brightness 88%, Fineness 100 mesh.
