What is ferrochrome?
Ferrochromium is made using metallurgical grade chrome ore and can be divided into three categories, depending on the level of carbon in the alloy.
The three types of ferrochrome alloys are:
High-carbon (HC) ferrochrome (carbon content between 4% and 9%)
Low- and medium-carbon (LC & MC) ferrochrome (carbon content less than 0.5% for LC and between 0.5% and 4% for MC)
Ferrochrome-silico-chrome (FeSiCr)
Ferrochrome applications:
Production of steel, especially stainless steel with chromium content of 10 to 20%, is the largest consumer of high-carbon ferrochrome. Over 80% of the worldâ??s ferrochrome is used in the production of stainless steel.
The vast majority of ferrochrome produced is� charge chrome, which has a lower chrome content ratio. Used most commonly in stainless steel.
Low carbon� and� medium carbon� ferrochrome is used in the manufacture of special steels. Low carbon ferrochrome can be used to produce superalloys.
Ferro Manganese is an alloy with high percentage of manganese, which is made by heating a mixture of oxides, MnO2 and Fe2O3 with high carbon content in blast furnace or an electric arc furnace-type system. The oxides go through carbothermal reduction in the furnaces that result in producing Ferro Manganese. Ferro Manganese is used as deoxidizer and desulfurizer for production of steel .
Silicon calcium is composed of the elements of silicon, calcium and iron, is an ideal compound deoxidizer, desulfurization agent. It is widely used in high quality steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel production and nickel base alloy, titanium alloy and other special alloy production.
In cast iron production,the calcium silicon alloy have inoculation effect.helped to form fine grained or spheroidal graphite; in the grey cast iron Graphite distribution uniformity,reduce chilling tendency,and can increase silicon,desulfurization,improve the quality of cast iron.

Ferro Silicon used quartz(or silica)as raw material is made by electric furnace, because silicon and oxygen are easily
compound into SiO2, the Ferro Silicon is often used as deoxidizer in steeling. It also can be used as a suspended phase in the mineral processing industry and coating for welding electrodes in the electrode manufacturing. According to the content of Silicon, this product can be divided into FeSi with the Si content
Application :
1. Ferrosilicon is often used as deoxidizer in steel- making.
2. Ferrosilicon also can be used as alloy elements join agent, which is widely used in low alloy steel, non-ferrous metal, bearing steel, heat-resistant steels and electrician silicon-steel.
3. It can be used as a reductant in ferroalloy production and chemical industry.
4. In iron industry it can be used as inoculant and nodulizer.
