Primary bag air filter, also called pocket air filter,is made of three parts: the filter frame, sewn-in pockets and pocket rings, and it is commonly used in the first or second stage of the filtration system.
Primary bag air filters can be designed in various sizes and also can be produced with various pockets or bags. Because of its special design, it can offer more than five times surface area than flat filter. A multilayered, melt-blown polypropylene medium is used to make the individual pockets. To ensure that the air flow is distributed evenly across the entire filter, pockets are made to inflate and stay apart from one another.
Primary filters are intended to catch floatable particles larger than 5 microns. While it is possible for the primary filter to capture what the pre-filter captures, doing so would significantly decrease the efficiency and efficacy in capturing the tiny airborne particles. This pocket type filter will not be distorted, or twisted when used normally, thereby extending the service life of the product. Every pocket is fully sealed, so it can avoid any dust or air leaks.

Pulse Jet Bag Filter
The Bag House/Bag Filter is generic name of Air Pollution Control Equipment. It is designed around the use of engineered fabric, filter tubes, envelopes or cartridges in capturing dust, separating dust or filtration process. AIL provides reliable and highly efficient Bag Filters and Bag House systems.
The dust laden gas enters through inlet nozzle and spreads all over the entire cross section of the bag filter. The gas moves up & passes through the bags, enters the clean air plenum through the top open end of the bags. During the passage of the gases through the fabric, the dust is retained on the outside surface of the bags. As the filtration proceeds the thickness of the dust layer on the fabric surface increases resulting in increase in pressure drop across the fabric. This necessitates the cleaning of the bags. Since the air flow is from outside to inside, the bags tend to collapse and are held by the wire cages, whose shape they acquire. The compressed air passing through the solenoid valves injects air at very high velocity for a short duration. This produces a shock wave causing the bag to expand and dislodging the dust cake which falls into the hopper. This unit is generally meant to operate with a pressure differential of 100-125 mmWG.
Pocket bag air filters can be made of synthetic pocket bag filter material or pocket synthetic fiber media blended with active carton, as well as the fiber glass pocket bag filter materials with various filter efficiency, mainly from F5~F9 (CRAA 430) or EU5~EU9 (EN779) or MERV9~MERV15 (ASHRAE).
The pocket bag filters often installed in HVAC systems, so also called HVAC pocket bag air filter, which is designed for industrial and commercial applications as well as for residential use to boost indoor air quality. Sometimes, the pocket bag air can be used for the first stage of the HVAC systems, but mostly will used as a secondary or final filter that behind a pleated primary filter.
The pocket bag filter material was adopted the nonwoven filter material with the relevant filter efficiency, for improve the dust loading and reduce the air resistance, the filter pockets will be divided into several small spaces, all the synthetic material will sealed with heat welding and the fiber glass will be sewn by sewing thread but the seam will be sealed with thermoplastic so as to guarantee the filter efficiency at the right requested data.
