This pore make liquid produce a large number of bubbles at low superheat, which enhance heat transfer. At the same time, porous structure formed many boiling centre, the film boiling changes to nucleate boiling. So boiling side heat transfer coefficients of 10-30 times that of bare tubes can be achieved, resulting in an overall heat transfer improvement of 2-4 times that of bare pipes.
