It is calcium supplement, which can promote the formation of calcification of bones and teeth, maintain normal excitement of nerves and muscles, and reduce capillary permeability. Because of its small solubility, it is generally used for oral administration only. Oral absorption is slow, and the in vivo process is similar to that of calcium chloride.
