Heavy melting steel is a designation for recyclable steel. It is categorised into two major categories: HMS 1 and HMS 2. The difference between the two is HMS 1 does not contain galvanized and cast iron, whereas HMS 2 does. Because both grades guarantee a minimum piece thickness â?? at least 1/4inch (6.3mm) for HMS 1, and 1/8 in for HMS 2 â?? consignments have a high density. The typical constituents are plates, truck parts, structural items, large machinery parts, automatic parts, pipes, post consumer steel goods. Chemical Composition: C:0.06 â?? 0.082% Mn:0.75 â?? 1.05% SI:0.13 â?? 0.28% P: Max 0.035% S: Max 0.045% Ar: Max 0.15%
Heavy melting steel (HMS) or heavy melting scrap is a designation for recyclable steel and wrought iron. It is broken up into two major categories: HMS 1 and HMS 2, where HMS 1 does not contain galvanized and blackened steel, whereas HMS 2 does. The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries breaks up the categories further:[1] ISRI 200 (HMS 1): Wrought iron or steel scrap 1â??4 inch (6.35 mm) and larger in thickness. All pieces must be smaller than 60 in Ã? 24 in (1,524 mm Ã? 610 mm) ISRI 201 (HMS 1): Same as ISRI 200 except pieces must be smaller than 36 in Ã? 18 in (914 mm Ã? 457 mm). ISRI 202 (HMS 1): Same as ISRI 200 except pieces must be smaller than 60 in Ã? 18 in (1,524 mm Ã? 457 mm). ISRI 203 (HMS 2): Wrought iron or steel scrap, black and galvanized, 1â??8 inch (3.175 mm) and larger in thickness. ISRI 204 (HMS 2): Same as ISRI 203 except pieces [1]must be smaller than 36 in Ã? 18 in (914 mm Ã? 457 mm). ISRI 205 (HMS 2): Same as ISRI 204 except it may contain automotive scrap except for thin gauge material. ISRI 206 (HMS 2): Same as ISRI 205 except pieces must be smaller than 60 in Ã? 18 in (1,524 mm Ã? 457 mm). HMS 1 and 2 are widely traded, particularly in the western hemisphere. Both HMS 1 and 2 comprise obsolete scrap only - iron and steel recovered from items demolished or dismantled at the end of their life. Because both grades guarantee a minimum piece thickness â?? at least 1â??4 inch (6.35 mm) for HMS 1, and 1â??8 inch (3.175 mm) for HMS 2 â?? consignments have a high density. Both also have defined maximum dimensions (usually 60 in Ã? 24 in or 1,524 mm Ã? 610 mm), and should be prepared to facilitate handling and charging to a furnace. This density, sizing and preparation makes for efficient furnace operation by minimising the time to charge enough scrap for a full melt. In contrast, thin mixed scrap greatly increases charging time, cutting furnace productivity. Variations on maximum piece size are covered by ISRI (North Americaâ??s Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries) codes. HMS is usually traded as a blend of 1 and 2, either a premium blend (80:20) or lower grade mixes (70:30) and (60:40). Other major heavy scrap grades include Japanâ??s H2 and A3 from the CIS.[2]

The Aluminium Incinerated scrap is the by-product derived from the reprocessing IBA Incinerator bottom ash). It can be classified as follows: Basel code B1010. EW Code: 17 04 02. With a low melting point at 660'C, on visual inspection, aluminium can be found as melted and re-solidified particles or rocks. This happens to aluminium foil that is converted into small droplets during the incineration process. Some larger and thicker aluminium packaging items can still be partially recognised as they retain their shape. The heterogeneous nature of the processed material is due to the diversified conditions present in the combustion chamber, (some relatively cooler regions in the furnace). The stock can contain all kind of aluminium packing. We can currently provide this material in three different fractions and with different aluminium content: 3-8 mm split in two different qualities: 65% ± 3% Al 85% ± 3% Al 8-16 mm: about 70% ± 3% Al 16-60 mm: about 80% ± 3% Al The material contains minor impurities typically stones, ash, glass. Such components are inherent and adhere to the scrap surface. The total impurities can be sorted, but not fully removed. The collected stock is stored in warehouse on cemented flooring. It can be loaded loose in 20' Feet heavy duty container.
Plate Iron Scrap is a material that a visual inspection appears of regular shape. This by-product is formed after slag processing in electrometallurgical furnaces. Its chemical composition is homogeneous and stable with about Fe 90% and P around 1.4%, S 0.8% and C 1.4%. The max weight of each pieces is up to 1 ton. The material can be loaded loose in 20 heavy duty container. For further details feel free to contact us.
Waste Specification: European Classification: E46 EWC Code: 19.01.02 Basel Code: B10 10 The material is loose steel scrap processed through an incinerating plant for domestic waste followed by magnetic separation, fragmentized into pieces and consisting partly of tin coated steel cans. At a visual inspection, the material is fragmentized, with iron and steel parts, resulting partly cut or in shredded form. The stock appears heterogeneous and contains all kind of cut or dismantled steel parts such as sheets, bars, frames, wires, bolts and other iron/steel household residues. The incinerated scrap is eventually oxidized, due to the thermal and cooling treatments, that the material has been submitted to. The burnt scrap also contains minor slag parts, ash and iron oxide, due to the recovery process. Such components are inherent and adhere to the scrap surface. The total impurities, can be sorted, but not fully removed. The consignment does not contain any type of arms, ammunition, mines, shells, cartridges, radioactive contaminated, or any other explosive material in any form either used or otherwise. The collected stock, is stored in open air, on cemented flooring. Due to the scrap dimensions and the material conditions, this particular scrap, should be carefully evaluated first, by the end users, to confirm its adequate recovery ratio and its suitability to be re-melted in the electric arc furnace. Please feel free to contact us for further details
The Incinerated scrap or E46, is the by-product derived from the reprocessing of incinerated domestic waste. After the combustion process, the furnace output (IBA Incinerator bottom ash) is firstly washed, magnetically separated and screened to separate any no ferrous material. At a visual inspection, the material is fragmentized, with iron and steel parts, resulting partly cut or in shredded form. The stock appears heterogeneous and contains all kind of cut or dismantled steel parts such as sheets, bars, frames, wires, bolts and other iron/steel household residues.
