Description
Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture is a high range water reducer, high concentrate naphthalene-based superplasticizer, also named Naphthalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde Condensate (NSF), SNF, PNS, etc..

Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture is made of naphthalene, sulfonic acid, formalin and alkali through sulphuration, hydrolyzation, condensation and neutralization reaction. Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture contains no chloride. It conforms to the requirements of chemical admixture specifications for concrete: ASTM C 494, Type F; ASTM C 1017.
Application
1.Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture is suitable to make autotrophic concrete, steam curing concrete, steel concrete and prestress concrete, all of which are made mainly of portland cement. When concrete added this superplasticizer needs to be steam cured, it requires considerable structural strength. The curing requirements should be pre-tested.
2.Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture is applicable in areas with the daily lowest temperature of and for making concrete which requires high fluidity, high strength or steam curing.
3.Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture can be used to make C80 concrete with slump loss between 50mm and 70mm, or C60 concrete with that between 180mm and 220mm.
4. Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture could be used as a raw material together with other components to make other kinds of admixtures, such as accelerator, retarder, anti-freezing agent and pumping aid to satisfy requirements from different construction projects, techniques, materials and environmental temperatures.
5. Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture will also fluidize concrete, making it ideal for tremie concreting or other applications where high slumps are desired.
6. Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture is compatible with Portland Cement, Portland Slag Cement, Fly-ash Cement, Portland Pozzolanic Cement, etc.

Features and Benefits
1. High water-reducing rate: Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture has a water reducing rate of more than 25%. It effectively increases concrete fluidity and reduces water bleeding and cement segregation. Therefore, it improves concrete placement and makes concrete easy to use and compacting.
2. Strengthening ability: Given the same amount of cement and slump requirement, this product can increase the concrete strength by 50-110%, 40-90%, 40-70% and 20-40% on day 1, 3, 7, and 28 respectively.
3. Good compatibility: It can be used with various types of cement. It is compatible with other admixtures. It may be used with expanding agents, air entraining agents as well as fly ash for supplementary and catalytic purpose.
4. Appropriate setting time: It doesn't influence the initial and final setting time. The difference in setting time generally is less than 1 hour.
5. Low sodium sulfate content: The aqueous solution has no crystallization in winter, which can avoid pipeline congestions.
6. Safety: It's non-toxic, non-irritating and non-emissive. It has no corrosion to steel bars. It's also hard to burn and explode.
7. High durability: It can modify the pore structure of concrete and improve impermeability, anti-freezing and thawing ability and carbonization.
8. Easy to use: It can be added directly or after being dissolved in water. It can be used for different working conditions and concrete mixers.
Uses and Dosages
1. Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture can be added directly or added in after being dissolved. It can be added during mixing and after-mixing.
2. The afterward approach can achieve better result. Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture is addition rate ranges from 0.4% to 1.0% of the weight of cementitious material in 1m3 of concrete, while the suggested rate is 0.5%.
3. If Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture is used in powder form, add it directly into cement, but not onto wet sand and gravels. If solution is used, please fully stir and dissolve it completely.

3. Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture should be stored in a dedicated warehouse that is well-ventilated and dry. It's shelter life is 12months.
4. Since Naphthalene Sulfonate (FDN) concrete admixture is packed in woven plastic bags, though the product is nonflammable, cautions should be taken to avoid fire.
