We are one of the leading manufactures and suppliers of mica scrap in India which is widely used for various industrial purposes. Irregular clumps of raw mica obtained from mines are called mica scrap, having an area between 1/2 and 1 1/2 We supply mica scraps which are substantially free from mineral impurities, non mineral impurities and other foreign inclusions. These are obtained from systematic and automated chemical refining processes. Our mica scrap is widely used in the manufacture of mica paper, mica plates, mica flakes and mica powder. We mainly export high quality scrap by removing dust, stone and other particles to plants all over the world.
Mica scrap is the nomenclature given to the irregular lumps of mica as received from the mines having a area between 1/2" and 1 1/2" sq. This type of mica is mainly exported to plants all over the world to be made into a pulp used for the manufacturing of mica paper and reconstituted mica plates. Domestically, it is used as a raw material for the manufacture of mica flakes and powder.
We supply mica scrap in sizes 1/2" and up crushed or uncrushed for making mica papers and mica board.

Mica Scraps can be classified into different categories based upon temperature, size, and purity requirements. They are available in Muscovite, Phlogopite and Biotite. Several sizes are available like -1/6" & up, 1/3" & up, 1/2"& up, 3/4" & up, 1" & up. White mica is well known for its shine and color, well suited for the production of paper and powder. This white mica scrap is good for calcinations as it cannot sustain its properties at a temperature of 800-900 degree Celsius."

Applications of Mica Scrap / Mica Chips
Mine scrap is primarily used as raw material for ground mica for industrial uses such as paints electrodes etc and for manufacturing of mica paper or reconstituted mica as a basic raw material.
Used in the manufacture of Mica Powder, Flakes, Paper.
Lubricants and roofing materials.
Used as filler in rubber Plants
Welding Electrodes, Cables and Wires.
Acoustical Plaster.
This type of mica is suitable for production of electrical materials and mica tape.
Top quality: it has NO TWILL, NO STONES, NO SAND, NO MUD and NO IMPURITIES and WELL DRIED and PACKAGED
Mica is a hydrated phyllosilicate mineral of aluminium and potassium with formula KAl(F, OH), or (KF) (AlO) (SiO). Muscovite can be cleaved into very thin transparent sheets that can substitute for glass, particularly for high-temperature applications such as industrial furnace or oven windows.
It is also used in the manufacture of a wide variety of electronics and as a filler in paints, plastic, and wallboard. Our monthly supply of these mineral ranges from 1000-2000MT.
Mica Powder in various forms is obtained by grinding/breaking mica scrap, which is a slow, costly and extremely complicated process, because of the scrap being tough and having a plate like structure. Meticulous care and precaution has to be taken so that there is no deterioration of its natural brilliance, colour and properties. Sun Minerals offer a suitable range of pure and stable mica powder that is a typical lamellar particle structure. This structure proves to be beneficial wherever a high rate of resistance against chemicals, heat and ultra violet light is required. Mica powder therefore is widely used in paint industry. Our factories are fully equipped with latest different pulverisers for processing varieties of mica powder.

Mica is a group of naturally occurring minerals known for their ability to split into thin, flexible layers. It is commonly used in various industries due to its insulating properties, heat resistance, and electrical conductivity. Mica is often found in shades of silver, gold, and brown and is used in products like cosmetics, paints, electronics, and construction materials. It also serves as a dielectric material in electrical applications and as a filler in plastic and rubber manufacturing.
