Mica Scraps can be classified into different categories based upon temperature, size, and purity requirements. They are available in Muscovite, Phlogopite and Biotite. Several sizes are available like -1/6" & up, 1/3" & up, 1/2"& up, 3/4" & up, 1" & up. White mica is well known for its shine and color, well suited for the production of paper and powder. This white mica scrap is good for calcinations as it cannot sustain its properties at a temperature of 800-900 degree Celsius."

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF THE MINERAL MICA Chemical Composition: The general formula for mica group minerals is XY Z O (OH, F) : X: Can be K, Na, Ba, Ca, Cs, (HO), or (NH). Y: Includes Al, Mg, Fe, Li, Cr, Mn, V, and Zn. Z: Comprises Si, Al, Fe, Be, and Ti. The chemical properties of mica minerals vary depending on the specific type of mica. However, all micas are silica (SiO2), aluminum oxide (Al2O3), and potassium oxide (K2O). Some micas may contain other elements, such as iron oxide (Fe2O3) and magnesium oxide (MgO). 1. PARTICLE SIZE: The proportion of fragments with particle size under 8 Mesh not be more than 8% 2. IMPURITIES: The proportion of impurities (biotite quartz stone and sand etc.) will not more than 2% 3. CALCINATION: The Mica Flakes will withstand calcination temperature of 850-920 temperature degree centigrade for 30 minutes. The calcined material will turn to silver/white colour.
