It is designed specifically for effectiveness and for frequent use without discomfort. An added bacteriostat (triclosan) prevents the unwanted re-growth of pathogens between applications of the product. Its method of use is to apply a small amount (about 1 gram) into the palm of one hand and to spread the product over the surface of both hands, including between the fingers, by rubbing the hands together. The product dries within seconds to leave the hands free of viruses and bacteria but also feeling moisturized. No water or washing is required.
