Akbari The open-mouthed, almond-shaped Akbari pistachio cultivar has a darker shell than other varieties of Persian pistachios. It is a late-bearing fruit that is also referred to as the "long pistachio," and it is harvested in late September. The skin of the green kernel is discolored and drab.
