Anthracite - a type of hard coal with obvious advantages While most types of hard coal are now valuable energy carriers, anthracite (sometimes called carbuncle), a hard, shiny high-carbon coal, is the most valuable variety. Anthracite . Although its reserves in nature are small (only 3% of total hard coal production), anthracite is actively used in many industries: chemical and electrode production, charcoal filters, sugar for public utilities. Anthracite is especially effective for individual heating as it produces practically no volatile substances during combustion - only about 5% of them are emitted. Among the other clear advantages of anthracite are: Quality and environmental friendliness. In anthracite, thanks to the property of metamorphism, the residues of plant origin are almost completely transformed, thanks to which it has the highest percentage of carbon - 95%, and no sulfur at all, which ensures no smoke, unpleasant odors, flames during combustion; calorific properties.
