A2 steel is called DIN 1.2363 and JIS SKD12 steel. 1.2363 steel is a cold work mold steel that is improved on the basis of SKD11 steel. The toughness of 1.2363 steel is twice that of SKD11. The retained austenite is almost all decomposed under the conventional heat treatment conditions. The toughness of 1.2363 steel is great in the cold work mold steel. There are no cracks of industrial products due to be made of A2 steel round bar sheet plate material.

A2 Steel Characteristics
1.High toughness. The products that were made of A2 steel material almost no cracking or cracking occurs during the use.
2.The machinability is also better than SKD11 steel. Using 1.2363 steel can increase the service life of the mold and get higher production efficiency.
3.High quench hardening ability. so it can efficiently avoid the defects which be caused by insufficient hardness during vacuum heat treatment.
4.The surface hardness is higher after surface hardening treatment. It can efficiently improve the performance of the mold.

AISI O2 steel also can be called JIS SKS31 and DIN 1.2842 steel. It is the better type compare with the O1 tool steel. Its content of carbon, chromium and tungsten has been raised. So it has a higher hardenability characteristic, the deformation is small during the quenching. It is a low alloy tool steel which is better than carbon steel at the point of the mechanical property. It has high hardness and wearing resistance. Because of the certain account of vanadium element, the crystal grain is smaller then decrease the overheating sensitivity of the steel. At the meantime, the carbide is getting smaller and the distribution is uniformity.

O1 tool steel round bar sheet plate was used widely as a cold work mold steel. It is a great material for the blade, metal molds and etc.
O1 Steel Application
1.2510 steel is used as a material of tough parts. Such as punches, knock-out pins, cams, and of course, knife blades. And 1.2510 steel is mainly used for short-run tooling for cold forming dies, blanking dies, and cutting tools operating at ambient temperature. Typical applications for O1 tool steel are blanking, forming, and trim dies, gages, slitting cutters and etc.
