NBR RUBBER is a synthetic rubber copolymer of acrylonitrile (ACN) and butadiene with a wide range of grades according to ACN contents. It may vary from 18% up to 45%. Different Mooney viscosities offer to user the possibility to employ the most suitable material on each production. Goods made of NBR rubber are oil and solvents resistance comparing to other rubber families. This synthetic rubber is also used for PVC modification. Some slight variation on the ACN contents and Mooney viscosity as well as bale shape makes this material as off grade.
SBS is a thermoplastic styrene-butadiene rubber. This rubber is widely used as plastic modification of other thermoplastic materials and also in asphalt too for roads and roofing. Very much used in compounding for footwear. SBS rubber as off grade is in general because slight variation of butadiene or styrene contents in front of the standard grades. The fact of lower styrene contents will reflect a lower shore hardness.
