BASFs Ultramid grades are molding compounds on the basis of PA6, PA66 and various co-polyamides such as PA66/6. The range also includes PA610 and semi-aromatic polyamides such as PA6T/6.
The molding compounds are available unreinforced, reinforced with glass fibers or minerals and also reinforced with long-glass fibers for special applications. Ultramid is noted for its high mechanical strength, stiffness and thermal stability. In
addition, Ultramid offers good toughness at low temperatures, favorable sliding friction behavior and can be processed without any problems.
Because of the manifold and tailor-made characteristics of Ultramid many applications are possible, especially in automotive construction, electrical engineering and electronics, in household technology, industrial connection, photovoltaics, in construction and installation, furniture, the sanitary industry and in mechanical engineering.
Ultramid can be processed by all methods known for thermoplastics. The main methods are injection molding and extrusion. Complex moldings are economically manufactured in large numbers from Ultramid by injection molding. The extrusion method is used to produce films, semi-finished products, pipes, profiled parts, sheet and monofilaments. Semi-finished products are usually further processed by cutting tools to form finished molded parts.
Ultradur is BASFs brand name for its line of partially crystalline, thermoplastic, saturated polyesters derived from
polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). They are employed as materials for high-quality technical components in many industry sectors.
Ultradur shows its strengths wherever high-quality and above all heavy-duty parts are required â?? for example in the automotive industry, in the electrics and electronic sectors. The range of applications which benefit from these properties of Ultradur in both industry and everyday life is vast. A feature that is particularly important is the low water absorption and thus the fact that the mechanical and electrical properties are largely independent of the moisture content or the climatic surrounding conditions. Particularly for components that are safety-relevant and have to work reliably for the entire lifetime of a component,Ultradur is indispensable.
Ultrason pellets are supplied in bags and/or octabins. The bulk density ranges between 700 and 800 g/l. Provided the packaging remains undamaged, Ultrason can be stored indefinitely. Ultrason pellets absorb moisture very rapidly. Therefore, the pellets need to be dried at least 4h at 130 C to 150 C in a vacuum or dry air drier prior to processing.

he XENOY alloy is a blend of semi-crystalline polyester (typically polybutylene terephthalate, PBT, or polyethylene
terephthalate, PET) and polycarbonate (PC). The XENOY resin family offers good chemical resistance, great impact resistance even at low temperatures, heat resistance, and outstanding aesthetic and flow characteristics.
POLYFLON PTFE is composed of polytetrafuluoroethylene, the most commonly used fluoroploymer. PTFE has a very long chain molecular structure in which all of the hydrogen atoms of polyethylene are replaced by fluorine atoms.
PTFE is superior in heat resistance and chemical resistance compared with the other plastics. These properties result from stable chemical structure consisting of only carbon and fluorine atoms with the highest electro negativity.
NEOFLON FEP NP-Series
NEOFLON FEP is melt processable perfluoro co-polymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene.
FEP has excellent electrical properties like PTFE because FEP consists of only fluorine atoms and carbon atoms. The chemical resistance capability and mechanical characteristics are the same as ones of PFA, however the heat resistance is lower than PFA.
