The water-soluble reverse-demulsifiers can be used to treat contaminated cutting oils, but also for other industrial oil-in-water emulsions, as can be encountered in various industries. Clarification of the waterphase is the main objective.
Coalescence agents are used to destabilise this type of emulsions by increasing the size of the oil-droplets present.
They can be used together with flocculation agents to accelerate the separation process and/or to improve overall clarification.
Cutting oil emulsions are so called (oil-in-water) emulsions.
Emulsifiers have been deliberately added to ensure a good mixture of the oil and water for cooling purposes. Used cutting oils contain, of course, a lot of contaminations like metal particles.
In order to recover the oil from the used waste cutting oil or to reduce the volume, OWT has water-soluble reverse-demulsifiers.
Especially when a certain batch of such kind of waste has to be treated, we prefer that you send us a representative sample (approx. 3-5 ltrs) of this emulsion together with a description of the process conditions: treatment-temperature, settling or mechanical (centrifuge) separation process and so much more.
In our laboratory we will then select the best cost-performing demulsifier to treat this particular batch, and advice you what goals are obtainable within the shortest possible time limit. This evaluation will be free of charge.
