1. Place the lifting magnet at the load.
2. Turn the handle counterclockwise to the vertical position.
3. Insert the tip of the screw driver shipped with the lifting magnet into a small hole at the yellow cover to hold the handle in the position.
4. Lift the lifting magnet and the load 2¡±-3¡± from the floor.
5. If the load can be lifted, place the load back onto the floor.
6. Take off the screw driver and turn the handle to ON position. The handle is locked by the slide pin.
7. Lift the load again. This time the safety coefficient is 2 at least.

Alnico magnets are manufactured by a cast or sintered process. Production level cast Alnico magnets are produced by conventional foundry methods using resin bonded sand molds. The magnetic characteristics for some exotic grades of Alnico magnets are achieved during the casting operation and are due to the unique crystalline grain orientation developed during the process. Sintered Alnico is a powdered metal and it is manufactured by compacting finely milled Alnico powder in a metallic mold. The resulting geometry is not fully dense and it must be sintered in a furnace to achieve a solid state.
Properties of all anisotropic or oriented cast and sintered Alnico magnet alloys are optimized during a heat treatment process. The direction of orientation is determined in this phase of the manufacturing process which involves heating the alloy above its curie temperature, then cooling at a controlled rate in the presence of a directional magnetic field.
Some cast and sintered Alnico magnets are isotropic or un-oriented and they skip the orientation process. These grades of Alnico magnets usually have lower energy products compared to the anisotropic grades, but they lend themselves to specialized magnetizing.
The surfaces of cast Alnico magnets are usually dark grey, have wide tolerances, and have a rough finish. Critical dimensions are abrasively cut or ground in order to maintain close tolerances and improve the fit and finish. Sintered Alnico magnets usually require minimal grinding because they can be produced with tighter dimensional tolerances. It is usually desirable to have features developed in the casting or sintering operations because conventional machining methods are difficult to employ when fabricating Alnico magnets.
1. SmCo1:5:
SmCo1:5 magnet is also named SmCo5.Prorated with metallic samarium, cobalt and metallic praseodymium , are firstly those roughcasts with different properties and grades after series technology processing from melting, milling, and pressing to sintering in order. The (BH) max range is from 16 to 25, maximum working temperature 250¡ãC. The physical character and ductibility of SmCo5 is better than Sm2Co17, so SmCo5 is slightly easier to be machined thin thickness disc or ring wall and complex shapes while Sm2Co17 is more brittle.
Magnetization magnetic field of SmCo5 is lower than Sm2Co17s. In general, SmCo5 can be magnetized saturated by 4000Gs magnetic field, however, magnetizing Sm2Co17 with high Hcj value need more than 6000Gs magnetic field. These days, prices of rare earth materials improved significantly, and the level of rare earth material around the magnet is up to 40%. For these reasons, the price of SmCo5 is more expensive than Sm2Co17. According to different using circumstance, customer can choose SmCo5 or Sm2Co17 reasonably. 2. 17 SmCo magnet:
SmCo2:17 magnet is also named Sm2Co17. Prorated with metallic samarium, cobalt, Copper, iron and zirconium, are firstly those roughcasts with different properties and grades after series technology processing from melting, milling, pressing to sintering in order. The (BH) max range is from 20 to 32, maximum working temperature 350¡ãC. Sm2Co17 bears a extremely low temperature coefficient and preferably anti-causticity. In high-temperature conditions, the magnetic properties is better than NdFeB magnets, As a result, it¡¯s widely used in fields¡£such as aeronautics and space, national defense and sensors. As a result of great brittleness of Sm2Co17 materials, it is not suitable for complex shapes and thin thickness disc or ring wall.Due to this character, there may be some appearance defects such as small chips during production, inspection and magnetizing process. However, it would not change its property; we consider them as qualified product. Magnetized SmCo products must be picked up carefully and gently during assemble process and kept away from ironware to avoid mutually attracting, causing chips and cracks. Sm2Co17 magnet is not easy to magnetize saturated, therefore, clients must be familiar with magnetization energy of their own magnetization equipments, to the effect that appropriate grade would be chose and products of company can be fully saturated. Magnetizing and Handling
Samarium Cobalt magnets are very brittle and very strong magnetically. Therefore,
it is crucial to handle these magnets with extreme care to avoid personal
injury and damage to the magnets. Fingers can be severely pinched between
attracting magnets. Magnets can chip if allowed to “jump at” an
attracting object. It is highly recommended that when constructing rare
earth magnetic assemblies, they be magnetized after assembly.
Samarium Cobalt Machining
Since Samarium Cobalt magnet material is prone to chipping and cracking,
it does not lend itself to conventional machining methods. It can, however,
be abrasively ground, but only with the use of liberal amounts of coolant.
The coolant minimizes heat fracturing and the risk of fires caused by
oxidized grinding dust.
