Each area in Indonesia has its own distinctive songket, but the original songket is made with much better material such as mercerized cotton and silk. The process was woven manually, the production process is longer and complicated. So the price is much more expensive.
Of course you can just order with designs and materials that are similar to the original songket typical of the region but there is a difference in production costs.
