A humble memoir of biodegradable garbage bags
Sit back and relax to follow the life time story of a basic yet mostly indispensable item in every householdâ??s drawer: biodegradable garbage bags.
Taking a short look back in the old days, seventy years ago, no one could ever thought that plastic bag would seize the throne of paper bag in term of popularity and the production of them could become so so common as today. The root of making such amazing change is the innovation of plastic granule producing technology has not had been introduced until the 1940s. Stepping to 1950s, since then plastic packaging factories started to develop.
And that was so much for the history of the ancestors of the biodegradable garbage bags. Nowadays, the process off manufacturing bio garbage bags has been made simple. First, materials â?? mostly come in granule form â?? are mixed together in one whole batch. The mix includes of Polyethylene ( High density, Low density or Low linear density are most common) and other additives- to enhance physical and appearance, colour masterbatch â?? to â??dyeâ?� the bag in vivid colours, and most important of them all is EPI, D2W to rightfully name it â??biodegradable garbage bagsâ?�- give the bags ability to disintegrate.
Following that mixture of biodegradable garbage bags is took to the extruder aka blowing machine to heat the granule to a temperature of about 200 Celcius degree. At this temperature the pellets will be melted, at which time the molten plastic is pushed into the machine and a die that determines the thickness that the biodegradable garbage bags required. Then, the plastic film is lead into a bubble by the external air flow and through a cooling process. Next, the film of the biodegradable garbage bags are adjusted into the appropriate size and then placed onto a spindle. Plus, machine for printing will be setup between extruder and spindle if any printing work is needed to make the bio garbage bags more appealing.
Once the film of biodegradable garbage bags are all set on the spindle, it is sent to what is known as a conversion department. This team unwraps the film roll and cuts it with a heated knife that also seals each of the sides of the bags together. Up on finished, handles are cut out using a heat process. The bag could be place in loose or keep on roll depends on demand. And voilà , here the biodegradable garbage bags ready, set and sail.
