Before taking your dog on a long walk, consider if the dog is healthy enough, has the desire, and is trained enough to walk that distance at your side. You should get an OK form your veterinarian if your pooch has any sort of medical problem, is overweight, etc. Work up to the longer distances with him by doing the shorter distances first.
Directions for use:
Operate: Hold the retractable leash by the hand and not by the tape. The tape leash will freely move in and out.
Stop: Press the brake button down with your thumb. The brake will stay locked as long as the button is pressed in.
Lock: Press the brake button with your thumb and push forward on the lock button. The lenght will remain at a fixed lenght. It is recommended to use the leash lock only when you want the dog to heel.
Release: With your thumb, slide the lock button back to release the lock. Use the break button to control the length of the leash
