Description: Ring gauges have an outer steel casing, which protects the inner carbide ring. Usage: Ring gauges are used to check the outside diameter of work pieces. The work piece is inserted into the Inner dia. Of the steel ring. If it passes through the GO ring gauge then it means that the work piece is good for its lower size limit. If the work piece does not pass through the NOGO ring gauge it means that the work piece is OK for the higher size limit. A ring gauge is also effective to check out of roundness on the higher side. A master setting ring is used as a standard to set bore gauges, which can then be used to determine deviation from the master size.
