Siliceous earth is a natural mineral containing high adsorption capacity. Siliceous earth is similar to diatomaceous earth but differs in crystal structure and morphological orientation. Naturally occurring material is light in weight having specific gravity of 2.2 -2.3 compared to other adsorbent materials. Natural siliceous earth is modified to suit applications such as heavy metal removal from drinking water and waste water effluents.
