Characteristics: * Brown color, flour form, Mixture of carbohydrates, lipids and natural proteins of plant origin * It contains between 8-11% of fat necessary for its subsequent use unlike cake de-oiled with hot solvent * The cake is obtained at Dekel oil following a cold process. this process allows it to retain its natural qualities and to contain more of the fat necessary for its subsequent use. What is Contrary to Competitors where the PKC is solvent deoiled and heated for solvent recovery. Humidity = less than 6% Gross material = fat less than 8%
High quality palm kernel cake
Castor-oil plant, (Ricinus communis), also called castor bean, large plant of the spurge family (Euphorbiaceae), grown commercially for the pharmaceutical and industrial uses of its oil and for use in landscaping. Probably native to tropical Africa, the castor-oil plant has become naturalized throughout warm areas of the world.
The Palm Kernel is the edible seed of the Oil Palm Fruit. The fruit yields two distinct oils - Palm Oil derived from the outer part of the fruit and Palm kernel oil derived from the kernel. The pulp left after oil is rendered from the kernel is formed into "Palm Kernel Cake". The Palm Kernel cake is a high fiber, medium-grade protein feed best suited to ruminants. It is commonly produced by economical screw press.
Palm kernel cake (expeller)is a by-product of the palm oil extraction process. It is obtained from the kernels of the palm fruit and is commonly used as a feed ingredient for livestock, especially in the production of ruminant feeds. PKC is rich in protein and energy and is a good source of essential amino acids, making it an attractive feed ingredient for animals. The process of extracting palm oil from the palm fruit involves crushing the fruit and separating the palm kernel from the palm mesocarp. The palm kernel is then further processed to extract the oil, leaving behind a solid cake known as the palm kernel cake (expeller) PKC has a high fiber content and a relatively low oil content compared to palm kernel meal, another by-product of the palm oil extraction process. PKC is often used as a substitute for other protein sources in animal feed, such as soybean meal or fish meal. It is also used as a feed ingredient in the production of biofuels.
