Reducing Pipe

A reducer is a component in a pipeline that reduces the pipe size from a larger to a smaller bore (inner diameter). The length of the reduction is usually equal to the average of the larger and smaller pipe diameters. There are two main types of reducer: concentric and eccentric reducers. Concentric Reducers: The concentric reducer is cone-shaped, and is used when there is a shift in diameter between pipes. For example, when a 1â?³ pipe transitions into a 3/4â?³ pipe and the top or bottom of the pipe doesnâ??t need to remain level. Unlike eccentric reducers, concentric reducers have a common centerline.
