DESCRIPTION The SZ-48P-5A 5-Axis Series CNC machine is a mid-sized CNC for machining wood, composites, plastics and non-ferrous metals. The SZ-48P5A is built on a massive steel frame with fixed gantry, moving table design to ensure maximum rigidity at the cutting tip. The structure of the machine allows for high speed simultaneous 5 axis machining and is has a machining area of 3100 x 1850 x 950mm. The SZ-48P5A comes as standard with a powerful 10kw HSD spindle and 8 position rotary ATC as standard. High speed machining and smooth motion are achieved using a state of the art OSAI NC control system. APPLICATIONS The SZ-48P5A is a state of the art 5-Axis machining centre with full 5 axis interpolation. Designed with mould manufacture in mind the SZ-48P5A is an extremely rugged machine with an extra heavy duty gantry and machine table for maximum rigidity and strength to provide high speed machining in all 5 axes. Equipped with a state of the art Osai digital closed loop NC control system the machine is capable of machining at speeds up to 20m/min. The SZ-48P5A 5 Axis comes as standard with a 10kw HSD spindle and HSK 63F tool clamping for extra precision. The rotary ATC with 8 positions tool carousel can complete tool changes in under 8 seconds, making it a true high speed machining centre for the mould, wood, plastic and composite industries. The standard table size of 1220 x 2440mm allows machining of large parts in full 5 axis. The open design of the machine adds greater flexibility as larger parts can be indexed and passed under the gantry for infinite length machining. Due to the flexibility of the MAXI-M9 it is commonly used for mould making, machining moulds in wood, resin tooling board, EPS and composites, trimming of vacuum formed mouldings, plastic fabrication, GRP machining, props and model making, profiling, solid surface machining and contouring.
