Double head stitcher:
The gathering and wire-stitching machine serves for the economical production of saddle-stitched brochures like magazines, TV guides, timetables catalogues, lists and similar printed matter.
FUNCTIONAL GROUPS:
The gathering and wire-stitching machine comprises the following functional groups:
Stitching machine with two stitching heads or handling two staple sizes
Counter for continuous counting of the stitched brochures
Belt delivery for delivering the finished brochures in imbricated form
Sheet-gathering chain with 2-6 feeding stations (optional)
Drive for the connection with automatic feeders (special attachment-optional)
Operation of the gathering and Wire-stitching machine,
Model PEW DH2
Signatures and cover sheets are dropped on a circulating gathering chain and conveyed to the stitching station through the spine from the outside to the inside with the wire staples. The two stitching heads for stitching with two staples are arranged under a hinged guard. These can be easily set to the thickness of the material to be stitched and to changes of the distance between the staples. Two exchangeable stapling devices are supplied, one of them for thin and the other one for thicker wire-gauge. After the stitching operation, which can be performed with staggered or unstaggered position of the staples, the brochures are delivered in imbricated form on a belt delivery.
Higher efficiency Auto-feeders
Full utilization of the capacity of the gathering and wire-stitching machine DH2 can be achieved by connecting it with feeders operating according to the ôroll-offö principle. The gathering and wire-stitching Model DH2 can be provided upto 4 Auto-feeders.
If the machine is to be used for hand feeding, the feeders have simply to be swivelled back. These feeders are also suitable for polygraph flow lines and can be attached without any modification.
