At the heart of a pet food production line is a hammer mill that efficiently pulverizes the ingredients to a fine consistency, ensuring optimal nutrient absorption for our furry friends. The meticulously calibrated mixer then blends high-quality ingredients, including bone meal, meat, protein, vitamins, fiber, and other essential nutrients, to create a wholesome base.
The pellet mill and extruder blended the mixture into an assortment of enticing shapes and sizes. Through the power of strong extrusion and instant expansion molding, we produce pet dog food with the perfect texture and consistency, along with delectable cat food and other food pellets. Furthermore, our production line enables us to create specialized aquatic feeds such as floating feed, mackerel feed pellets, goldfish feed pellets, shrimp feed pellets, crab feed pellets, and more.
With a versatile range of particle sizes, ranging from 0.9mm to 15mm, we cater to the dietary needs of fish of various sizes. This flexibility allows us to serve a wide spectrum of aquatic farms, feed processing plants, and the pet food industry at large.
How is pet food produced?
Typical raw materials used in pet food processing include grain flour, vegetable proteins, minerals and vitamins, and in some cases meat or fish meal and fresh meat. The dry material enters the pre-conditioner+ and is steam hydrated. A blender mixes the ingredients and ensures that steam, moisture and ingredients are properly mixed. The preconditioning produces partial pasting of the starch and structure of the polymer. The semi-cooked mixture is then fed to a twin-screw extruder where shear, internal temperature, pressure, moisture and residence time are precisely controlled to achieve optimum starch pasting without loss of food quality. At different stages of processing, liquid or steam can be injected through ports in the barrel of the extruder. Degassing can be carried out at this stage using exhaust packings.
