Latin : Lutjanus bitaeniatus Indonesian : Kakap Merah Description Red Snapper lives in coastal shallow water of Indonesia. During the day they in between beautiful corals on the seabed while they hunt for food during the night. This fish is found around Sumatra, Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua coastal lines. Maluku will have the advantages as they are made by small islands which makes center of the sea calm. This is suitable environment for red snapper. Benefit Red snapper is an excellent source of protein, potassium, selenium, and vitamin B12. In addition, it is a very good source of vitamin B6, niacin, and phosphorous. Beware for pregnant woman as red snapper contains a high substance of mercury.
