3.Introduction: Hexapeptide-2 is a skin lightening peptide to brighten skin and even-out skin tone. This peptide obtained by synthesis acts as an antagonist to -MSH. The binding of -MSH to its receptors mediates skin pigmentation. It competes for -MSH binding to its receptors, thereby decreasing melanin synthesis. Hexapeptide-2 induces a decrease in the melanin content in epidermal cells.
