Protease k is a highly active protease of the subtilisin class, used for the general degradation of proteins in biological samples. It is purified from Tritirachium album limber. Protease K is a serine protease with broad cleavage activity. It cleaves the carboxy terminal peptide bond of aliphatic amino acid and aromatic amino acid. This enzyme is purified to remove RNase and DNase activities. Since proteinase K is stable in urea and SDS, it also has the ability to degrade natural proteins.

The amount of white enzyme K is defined as one unit (U).
Residue of DNase: Digested with �» DNA as the substrate for more than 6 hours at 37 , no deoxyribonuclease activity was detected.
RNase residue: Digested at 25 for more than 16 hours, no ribonuclease activity was detected.
Inactivation method: adding benzenesulfonyl chloride (PMSF) or diisopropyl fluorophosphoric acid (DFIP) inhibitor to the reaction system
Alive, incubation at 65 for 10-15min can partially inactivate.

Storage:
The dry powder state can be stored for a long time under the condition of -20 . After dissolving, dispense into appropriate volume, store at 2-8 for short-term, and -20 for long-term.
Under the correct storage conditions, the validity period of the dry powder state can reach one year. The liquid state is valid at -20 for half a year. After opening the package, if It is recommended to filter and sterilize or add a stabilizer such as 0.5% sodium azide to prevent microbial contamination if it is left at 2-8 for more than a week.
Storage and dilution buffer: 50 mM Tris-HCL buffer, 2 mM CaCL2 (pH 8.0).
Reaction conditions: Incubate for one hour at 37-56 in reaction buffer
